Introducing...the one and only....Abigail Elizabeth Conn!
Hey Everyone...so sorry it has taken us so long to do ANYTHING online since she arrived...but we promise to try and be better! Abigail was born on Wed. 4/21 at 6:31PM...she weighed 7lb 8oz and was 20 inches long. She has very long fingers and feet/toes like her mommy. I think she looks more like Evan right now. She is SO beautiful and precious. Absolutely perfect!! We couldn't have asked for a better baby. Right now, we are still at the hospital. She has a high bilirubin (jaundice) and is under the bili lights at least until tomorrow but maybe even at home for a few days after. I hate it for her...she has to wear these goggles so the light doesn't hurt her little eyes and she doesn't like them at all. She can't be swaddled under the lights so she startles alot...but it's so sweet...she will calm down as soon as she hears my voice. I love it! She's a snuggly little thing and LOVES to be loved on. We can only hold her right now while she's being fed so I try to breast feed her for 20min and then Evan gets 10min w/ the bottle. The formula is what we hope to get her past this jaundice issue...she needs lots of nutrition and fluids to help so while my udders are getting ready for full production, we are supplementing. She takes it well so that is good...she now would rather just cuddle and snuggle up to me when I feed her but Evan is such a good dad...he has the job of stimulating her to stay awake! What a process!!! Hopefully it will only be for a few more days and we can get her out of here!!! Here are a few pics from birth...oh, and that was not really fun. She was faced sideways in me so ended up coming out with some assistance from a hoover (vacuum). But we did it and here she is!!!!!

ReplyDeleteIsn't that the best when they calm down with your voice- I think that is how Bill instantly bonded with the boys right after they came out. I hope she gets rid of that bili soon! I am glad to hear you are so happy!

ReplyDeleteShe is a cuddler already, just like her cousin Jack! So sweet that she loves her mommy's soothing voice. It won't be long until you are home and introducing her to her beautiful room and big bro Porter! We are very proud of you! Congratulations again!
